Treatments

CureNow is equipped with state of the art equipment and machines, which are used for providing cutting edge rehabilitation and stellar exercises for our patrons.

Technically, these equipment are called Electro-Therapy Modalities, since these devices use electrical current to achieve therapeutic effects. Besides, there are normal exercise equipment as well, with us.

A brief overview of the electrical modalities and exercise equipments we have at our Physiotherapy Clinic:

SWD or Shortwave Diathermy

Shortwave Diathermy employs high-frequency electromagnetic energy to produce heat. This equipment is used in those cases where the patient is experiencing pain and/or low back muscle spasm, joint Osteoarthritis and Rheumatism.

Muscle Stimulator

Patients who are having muscle related problems are given treatment using muscle stimulator. Using this device, physiotherapists provide electric pulses via electrodes, which relaxes and stimulates the muscles, and thus, the healing process is initiated and it is very important in the treatment of Neuromuscular disorder such as facial palsy, foot drop and wrist drop.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is one of the oldest and most widely used equipment by physiotherapists, all over the world. Its origin dates back to 1940. Using transmission coupling gel, ultrasound is provided through the head of an ultrasound probe, directly to the affected area of the patient. Ultrasound can help in increasing healing rates, tissue relaxation, tissue heating, local blood flow, scar tissue breakdown and more.

Traction: Cervical and Lumbar

While Cervical spinal traction is used for neck pain as a short term solution, Lumbar traction involves consistent and continuous application of force to the spine of the patient to reduce pain associated with nerve root impingement and muscle spasms.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation or TENS is a therapy involving a battery operated device. This is used to deliver light electrical impulses via electrodes which are placed on the surface of the patient’s affected area. This is mainly used to provide relief from the pain, by changing the perspective of the pain itself by stimulating nerve cells.

Interferential Therapy or (IFT)

Interferential Therapy is a form of electrotherapy, which employes usage of electric current to stimulate tissues which helps in pain relief. The IFT device uses a range of frequencies, depending on the pain and the impact it has on the patient. Increasing blood supply in an affected area is a good example of IFT treatment.

Theraband

Theraband are resistance bands, which are used for strengthening exercises, without the usage of weights. Both upper and lower body strengthening exercises can be done using therabands.

Shoulder Wheel and Ladder

Shoulder wheel and ladder are used for strengthening of muscles, and increase range of motion by adjusting the settings of this equipment. It’s used to increase strength and mobility of fingers, grip, wrist, elbow & shoulder.
